Up Up and Away

We had the pleasure of staying at Up Up and Away, a beautiful B&B set atop the hillside, overlooking beautiful Hermann, MO.

Our group of 5, including a 6 month old, all fit comfortably in the Deck Suite. (Two + Baby were in master bedroom, Two were on the pull-out in the living room).
We selected the deck suite for it's privacy and also because we had an infant with us. As far as my reasearch has gone, most B&Bs in Hermann, MO do not allow children and require all customers must be 18 years of age. As this is a stand alone suite, a crying child will not disturb other guests.

Up Up and Away is one of the few children friendly B&Bs in Hermann.

The master bedroom. It is gorgeous, modern and comfortable.

Nice large tub. There is also an additional double headed shower across the room. Both bathrooms are only accessible by the master bedroom.

The beautiful view. The only way to access the deck suite is by a outdoor staircase. It is not the easiest to manuever but we didn't have any serious issues with it.

A gourmet breakfast is included in the rate and my goodness, it is delicious!

Tandem Riding

Many concerned parents call us requesting information on children ziplining. While parents are not allowed to ride tandem with children, we have highly trained guides who are more than happy to ride tandem with any child who may be nervous.

For our Easy Rider (4 line) tour and our Super Six (6 line) tour children ages 3+ (no matter how small!) can ride by themselves. They do not need to ride tandem if they do not want to -- these lines were specifically designed with children in mind and therefore the children have no problem getting over to the other side.

However, if your child would like to ride tandem with someone because he or she is nervous or scared, I have put together a few pictures and comments to explain how that will work.

All tours start at the same point; our first line adjacent to our parking lot.
Landon is riding tandem with owner, Mike. Landon's mother stays on this side to make sure Landon is okay. Both Mike and Landon are in harnesses. Landon rides infront of Mike, holding his own straps. He does not have to hold his own straps but it gives them something to do (if children let go of the straps it is no problem.)  Mike holds onto the cable for the both of them so Landon doesn't have to do anything but sit back and enjoy the ride.

Landon's group cheers for him as he comes in to the landing. Landon's father as zipped over first so he is there to greet Landon as he comes in.
Landon, who was very apprehensive before his first line, gives Mike a high five. Landon's red safety strap is then attached to the tree so he is safe on the platform.

Landon is excited for his mom to join him on the platform.
Family photo!

Landon and Mike after Landon's ziplining adventure. Landon had a blast!

Summer is winding down and the kiddos are going back to school. We have had a great summer zipping with everyone and hope you all enjoyed your tours! August has always been our slowest month, with the hustle and bustle of settling into new school routines. We will start getting busy again in September and October so be sure to book early to secure your spots. Fall is a beautiful time to zip at Eco Zipline Tours.

The beginning of fall, 2011.

Molly and Yousef were excellent guides.
Thumbs Up 07/10/2012

Molly and Yusef, our guides, were very friendly and I felt safe with them! A cool experience so I recommend it. I was a bit afraid at the start but relaxed after the second cable line. I think the bottle of water should have been included in the price of the tour. It cost $1.00 and it would have been nice not to have to pay for it.

It's a HOT one!

Woo! It is HOT in Missouri this summer, huh? This is a friendly reminder to all of our customers to always stay as hydrated as possible before their tour!!
We will always have ice cold water for $1.00 in our office or you're welcome to bring your own 16oz plastic (light-weight) water bottle. We provide the water bottle holders that can attach to your zipline harness.

Positive Feedback from our Living Social customers

I just discovered that Living Social gives our customers the chance to review us after their visit. We love hearing feedback, good or bad, so are thrilled with this feature. So far, we have only had one thumbs down (they thought it would be more exciting and decided not to go on to the High Flyer - but they did say we were very friendly and professional!) So far, we have over 25 thumbs up! Our guides seriously are some of the best around.

Here are some of the comments we received so far:
"we had the best tour guides ever! We had so so much fun! Callie and Christian were a blast. we will be back!!!!"

"We had a wonderful time. Randy and Nick were our guides through the tour and they were careful & patient and made it a lot of fun. Our group was an older couple with our twenty something kids, and we were joined by a family with young children. Though I am afraid of heights, I found it to be a great experience." (We do not have anyone named Randy who works with us but we appreciate the feedback!)

"Awesome! FUN! Friendly employees! Money well spent!"

"The staff was very professional and friendly. They made it fun and I felt very safe in their capable hands. I would definitely go back!"

"It was my first time to Zipline. It was a wonderful experience. The people who own and run it were very friendly and professional. I felt very safe."

"It was AWESOME!! Friendly, helpful staff. Very well run facility. Will go again!"

"They were professional and the guides impressed us both. Dan was great."

Who is..Zeus?

If you have been to Eco Zipline Tours, you have certainly met our 6 year old pug, Zeus (Willy Z McGee Seper..he's a Cards fan!) He roams freely at our course, though you will most often find him snoozin' and snorin' on his big bed, behind our desk. He is our beloved mascot and though he may seem bored with the job at times, he does a wonderful job. He is the sweetest dog and we're blessed to have him.. and we know our customers agree! We get asked daily if he ziplines and the answer is YES! When we first opened Eco Zipline Tours, we never wanted to leave him locked up in the office so we'd let him run the course with our tours. Zeus has always gone on runs with his owner so he has always been in great shape. However, after a few weeks, it became apparent that his little legs were working a little too hard. Not wanting to leave him out of the excitement, we decided to make him a harness. It was really out of necessity. He absolutely loves ziplining - often going for his harness as soon as we open the door in the morning.  As far as we know, Zeus is the worlds only ziplining pug and that just make our already super-awesome dog just that much cooler.

The Fine Print:
Unfortunately, we cannot let your animals zipline at Eco Zipline Tours - Zeus just wouldn't be cool with that! We have been asked many times if Zeus can go on tour with our customers. Sadly, Zeus does not go on tours with customers. Ziplining with him does take a lot of extra time and we do not want our customers to have to wait. If you visit us on a slow day and we have the time, we would be happy to take Zeus down our first line so you can see him go. Also, a disclaimer, we never send Zeus down the zipline by himself. He is always hooked up to the line in his secure harness, and we are always holding him. If you own a zipline or have one at home, please never send your animals on it alone.

Upgrading and NEW TOUR SCHEDULE

We are now offering a new tour schedule on the weekends.
If you have been to Eco Zipline Tours,  you may be familiar with our popular upgrading system. Our customers really appreciate that they can start out with the Easy Rider and then "upgrade" to the High Flyer while on tour. Many of our customers try ziplining for the very first time at Eco Zipline Tours so we understand that some are hesitant to sign up for our High Flyer tour (225ft off the ground??!!) We also know ziplining is a splurge for most of our customers, so we are happy that we can let you try it out first, ensuring your hard-earned money will be well spent.

We will still be offering upgrades but will need to change our tour schedule to accommodate such requests.

On Saturdays & Sundays we will still be offering hourly tours from 9-5pm, however we will only be offering certain tours at certain times.

NEW 2012 TOUR SCHEDULE:

Saturday & Sunday - 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm & 5pm tours will only be High Flyer & Easy Rider tours. In our prior seasons, we have found that upgrades between these two tours go rather smoothly. Easy Rider participants can still upgrade to the 10 line High Flyer tour, while on tour, after completing the 3rd zipline. This will be an extra $40.00 per person.
Easy Rider participants will NOT be allowed to upgrade to the Super Six on the day of the tour. We would be happy to take care of upgrading your voucher PRIOR to the day of your tour but this depends on availability - you will need to move your tour time to a "Super Six" tour time.

Saturday & Sunday - 10am, 12pm, 2pm & 4pm tours will ONLY be Super Six tours. Super Six participants can upgrade to the 10 line High Flyer tour, while on tour, after they have completed the 4th zipline. This will be an extra $20.00 per person.

On Monday, Thursday and Friday we will be offering the option for all 3 tours at each tour time; 11am, 1pm, 3pm.

We have implemented this booking system with our customers in mind. We want to avoid as much waiting time as possible for our customers but we also want to accommodate those who want to try it out before they commit to the big tour.

An exception to our weekend tour schedule would be any large groups who contact us for private parties. We will plan a tour schedule that fits your group on a case by case basis.

Please contact us with any questions -
